BIBLICAL WORD DEFINITIONS

We have a foreign language problem. We must know what it meant to those in First Century, by their understanding

1) KJV “Word of God” (WORD = LAW)

Acts 17:11 “searched the scriptures” NT wasn’t relevant in 1st Century but was canonized as scripture Centuries later. Acts 15:21 “…The Mosaic law is preached in EVERY CITY every sabbath day”

“HEAR AND DO THE WORD OF GOD” scriptures:

Luke 8:19-21

“Then came to him his mother and his brethren, and could not come at him for the press. And it was told him by certain which said, Thy mother and thy brethren stand without, desiring to see thee. And he answered and said unto them, My mother and my brethren are these which hear the word of God, and do it.”

Exod 24:7-9

“And he took the book of the covenant, and read in the audience of the people: and they said, All that the LORD hath said will we do, and be obedient.

Deut 31:12

“Gather the people together, men, and women, and children, and thy stranger that is within thy gates, that they may hear, and that they may learn, and fear the LORD your God, and observe to do all the words of this law:”

Acts 6:7

II Ki 23:24
